Ricky Shearman 2-D & 3-D Art

Ron Mueck's "Two Women" is an example of 3-D art because it has height, depth, and width.

Takashi Murakami specializes in sculptures of 3-D art like this one.

Another from Ron Mueck, "In Bed" demonstrates the qualities of 3-D art, depth, height, and width.

Moving to 2-D art, where the work is developed on a flat plane without depth, the Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci.

Van Gogh made many 2-D paintings as well. Here is one of his most famous entitled, "Starry Night."

Pablo Picasso shows 2-D art in, "The Old Guitarist" by using a flat canvas and painting on it.
